An adventure that
arrives from afar
It was 1986 when the Friends Madonna of the Snow of Lagunc and the Grouppo
Podistico Valchiavenna organized the first edition of the race in called
climb Pianazzola-Lagunc.
It was left from the large square of the church of Pianazzola to quota 650
and it is arrived to Lagunc over the church mails to quota 1.383; the
distance had a length of meters 2.540.
The first years, until 1990, the contest was classified to the single men
then, always on the same tracing, was admitted also the women.
It is continued so until 2000 when decided to transform the competition in a
vertical kilometer.
The departure was moved to Chiavenna on the large square of the Church of
Loreto to 360 quota and the arrival always to Lagunc but to quota 1371 with
an unevenness do1011 meters; the distance had a length of 3461 meters.
After the edition of the 2007 it has been thought to make a quality jump the
manifestation and in such sense like first action, had I lower it of the
responsibles of the National Committee of the Race in Mountain, is
introduced demanded to the federation of the athletics for the homologation
of the distance.
It has been provided preliminarily, through the Technical Study Maraffio of
Chiavenna, to the technical measurement of the unevennesses and to the
location with absolute precision of the 1000 meters of unevenness.
The departure, as already it happened during the last few years, is placed
to quota 352 in correspondence of the first step of the called mulattiera
“road of the Dead men of Pianazzola”.
The arrival, place to quota 1,352, is localized inside of the first houses
of Lagunc.
To perennial memory of the manifestation it has been provided to rests, in
press of the church of Lagunc, of a stele where the names of all the winners
are recorded who have ollowed themselves in the years and will be recorded
those which will follow in the future.
To the departure the logo of the manifestation is put down a bringing back
plate.
Along all the tracing it is put down appropriate identifying having brought
back resort and quota.
It remains solo to add that by 2006, like society organizer, the Mera
Athletic Club in substitution of the Grouppo Podistico Valchiavenna that we
thank..
